Winter programme – update

Club nights

The heartbeat of the CAI winter programme is a weekly club night. Every Wednesday evening from 19:30 until 21:00 a Zoom room is open for members to drop in and meet without an agenda.

We don’t expect anyone to attend every session. Treat it like a physical clubhouse: join in whenever you’re available and fancy a chat about cruising.

From time to time we’ll use the session for a formal presentation or ‘webinar’. We’re lining up speakers and will announce talks in the usual ways.

Because these Zoom meetings are only for CAI members we need to protect the meeting identifier and passcode. You’ll find the details and a link you can click in a new permanent web page: ‘Discussion Forums‘. Select the option in the ‘Members Area’ menu or use this direct link:  https://cruising.ie/discussion-forums

External events

Sailing clubs regularly organise talks for their members, and some kindly allow CAI members to attend as well.

The first of these is a presentation by professor Tom Ray at Howth Yacht Club on Wednesday 26 October at 19:30 on an astronomical theme. There is no charge. Members of Howth Yacht Club can just turn up, but places for guests are limited and you must register in advance. If you want to attend, just send guests’ names in an email to events@cruising.ie.

Live calendar

We have set up a Google calendar for CAI events. You can view it online at this address:

If you use a calendar application that can understand the ‘ical’ protocol you can add CAI events by providing this address:
