Charlie Kavanagh Baltic Cruise 2019

Renowned storyteller and raconteur Charlie Kavanagh is sure to entertain us with his journey to the Baltic.

Charlie and Stravaiger left New Ross for Kilmore Quay, departed May 1st for Isles of Scilly to Brittany, Normandy in France to Ostend in Belgium. From there, through the Netherlands using the SMR (Standing Mast Route) to Amsterdam, on through the former Zuider Zee and Friesland to the German Bight. From there, via the Eider River and Kiel Canal to the Baltic. South Denmark, East Sweden, Gotland, Latvia and Estonia. From there, we explored the Finnish and Alands archipelagos in beautiful summer weather. Our next adventure was the Stockholm archipelago, followed by Lake Malaren and on to the Gota canal, which lead us to our winter home on Lake Vanern. 20 weeks, with 7 crew joining along the way and 2800 miles exploring Northern European waters was a great adventure well worth the effort.
