This summer’s cruise will take us to North Wales, a place with many happy memories for the Association. We have been there several times before, and members have enjoyed the scenery, varied havens, friendly communities and even the challenges of navigation and pilotage.
For those who have not yet ventured beyond the east coast of Ireland, three obstacles probably loom large: a long passage out of sight of land, entering a foreign country, and negotiating the fearsome rocks and tides in the Menai Strait. A problem shared is a problem halved, however, and it’s reassuring to prepare and sail with others who have done it before.
The cruise in company will be led by a very experienced team: John Leahy, Cliff Brown and John Murphy. They will be providing all the support, advice and help needed to make the event safe and enjoyable for everyone.
The fleet will assemble in Holyhead on Saturday 22 June, with boats from Irish ports crossing in smaller groups according to home ports, weather and the time available.
A more detailed plan will be published soon. In the meantime direct your questions to the organisers at the usual email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
