Summer Cruise 2024 – Final Preparations

Excitement is mounting as we prepare for this year’s summer cruise in North Wales.

Bookings closed today and the final tally is 13 boats with 36 people aboard. Two more will only go as far as Holyhead. The largest is BLUE (Jeanneau Sun Kiss 47). The smallest are SALUBRIOUS (Hunter Ranger 265) and CHOUFLEUR (Evolution 25).

It seems likely that we’ll have several groups crossing to Holyhead next week. On Thursday ASILE and two solo boats from the south coast will leave from Arklow. Other groups will go from the Dublin area on Thursday and on Friday.

Last Wednesday evening organisers John, Cliff and Simon briefed participants on weather, the programme and the UK registration procedure (SPCR).

It seems there’s a shortage of the Q flags we’ll all need, but fabricating one from a simple square of yellow cloth is not beyond our skippers!
