Back for round two
After a really well‑attended Skill Share Day in April, we’re delighted to be back with a second one. Put Sunday 24th May in your diary.
An opportunity to practice skills and share knowledge. From “parking” in the marina, to anchoring, reefing, or recovering a man overboard… what do you want to work on?
We’re deliberately clustering these events early in the season – a great chance to dust off the cobwebs, get some focussed practice in, and mix members up across boats before cruising plans properly kick off.
Bookings will open shortly, and we’d love members to join:
- with their own boats,
- without a boat, joining another crew for the day, or
- as mentors, helping others practice and develop their skills.
We’re especially keen to hear from members willing to act as mentors. There’s no formal qualification or instruction role involved – it’s simply about sharing experience and knowledge and helping skippers or crews practice real‑world skills in a supportive setting. In fact, there’s often no better way to refresh and sharpen your own thinking than having to explain something to someone else, or watching them do it and spotting the small adjustments that make a difference – perhaps drawing on things you learned yourself many years ago.
Whether you’d like to practise on your own boat, join another crew to build confidence, or support others as a mentor, we’d love to have you involved.
The event will be in Dun Laoghaire. Meet at 10am, ashore by 4pm.
