On 17 June 2025 I sailed Asile out of Arklow marina to join the CAI summer cruise. Sue had decided to sail only parts of this cruise, so I was alone.
I spent the next few weeks afloat visiting harbours, marinas and anchorages on Ireland’s east coast. Sometimes I had the company of crew aboard, and sometimes Asile had the company of other boats.
By the time we arrived back at Arklow on 20 July Asile and I had travelled 588 miles in all kinds of weather and I had become confident as a single-handed sailor.
