Wide-angle view of boats in Greystones Marina

Greystones Rally 2025 – Report

Saturday 12 April 2025

A good fleet of CAI boats descended on Greystones in fine conditions, and members enjoyed the hospitality of Greystones Sailing Club and Bochelli’s Restaurant.

From Brendan Farrell (organiser):

We had 17 boats and about 67 diners, all went well, we had a good few pop into the sailing club (it is open when there is sailing on, so the timing was good for people to meander on up to Bochelli’s afterwards).

Scott looked after us well and shuffled the marina to give us as much adjacent space as possible – the INSS arrived in later and ended up right down the back 😊.

We had a bit of fun when Jigsaw lost power (suspected fuel issue) so we arranged a side by side tow using one of the GSC ribs and Scott cleared space so we could just tow her straight into a berth with no manoeuvring needed. So overall a good start to the season and a reason for us all to stop fiddling with our boats and get out and sail!

From Ciarán Callan (Southern Breeze):

Many thanks to everyone for organising the Greystones rally, enjoyed everything immensely.

From Alan Bell (Seabird):

Thank you for organising a most enjoyable weekend cruise to Greystones. ⚓
The weather could not have been better for a gentle ease into the summer season, and to have the opportunity to meet and mingle with new found friends.
Looking forward with enthusiasm to the next event.
