One week to go!
Do you ever wish a more experienced cruising sailor was standing by your side as you approach the marina, offering helpful advice at just the right moment?
Several of our members have offered their services to other members to do just that. Next week we will run a skill-building event. You will do practical exercises on the water in your own boats, with an experienced mentor aboard.
Please book your place now so we know who wants to participate and, more importantly, what skills we should cover. These things require some planning time!
We’ve seen requests for:
- Manoeuvring under power
- Coming alongside
- Rafting
- Picking up a mooring
- Man Overboard recovery
So far nobody’s mentioned anchoring, tenders or VHF protocols. Unless we hear from you we won’t be covering those topics. If you’ve booked but haven’t requested anything it’s not too late – just tell the organisers: events@cruising.ie
