I’ll step down as Commodore, making way for John Murphy who has been serving as Vice Commodore for two years. By convention the Vice Commodore elected in 2024 will take over as Commodore in 2026 when John’s term ends.
To manage events and meetings, look after membership and financial records, and generally steer the Association to fulfil its objectives takes a fair bit of work. The load is shared by a dozen people in our main committee, though, so individual contributions aren’t overwhelming.
Committee members are expected to attend most of the monthly meetings (often using Zoom), help out with events and contribute to discussions about policy.
If you can spare a little time and energy and are ready to help keep this community going, please talk to me or one of the committee members about standing for election next year.
