If you were disappointed to miss the Summer Cruise to Waterford, a long weekend in Carlingford might help you feel better.
Sail to Carlingford Lough on Saturday, stay in the marina for two nights with a meal, then sail home on Monday.
The lough is a spectacular place to sail – a large expanse of sheltered water between the Mourne mountains and the Cooley hills. Entry and exit require careful planning, but it’s not difficult with the right information and reasonable weather conditions.
The marina, village and sailing club offer a warm welcome, and walking in the hills is a popular activity with visitors.
Berthing rate is €25 a night for any boat, and we’re arranging a meal together on Saturday night. There’s no administration charge, but please submit a booking form on the website if you think you might go.
