By David Beattie at 19:30 on Tuesday 15 March in the CAI Zoom room.
A talk about flags, their origins and uses, including sailing flag etiquette and some famous and infamous flag signals made over the years.
David Beattie has been sailing for over 50 years and cruising offshore for all but two of them. He is a long standing member of RIYC and is currently Commodore of the Irish Cruising Club. He first developed an interest in flags following a signaling incident in the Hebrides in 1973, which he will relate.
The talk is being given to the Cruising Association of Ireland in conjunction with the Royal Irish Yacht Club. We are pleased that the Commodore of the ICC has offered to end our Winter season of Tuesday Night Talks, and we look forward to seeing you there.
